Security and Backup and Disaster Recovery:
Having the right solutions in place today ensuring less stressful tomorrows
by: George Gremminger
Thank you for inviting me to speak at the Perkolator breakfast on March 8th. Here is a quick recap on Having the right solutions in place today, ensuring less stressful tomorrows and how The Connection, Inc. can help you focus on your business and growth while we focus on your technology.
Security, Backup and Disaster Recovery
Did you know that employees account for 43% of data loss? These mistakes can come in the form of accidental deletion of imperative files, opening a suspicious email or attachment, or by simply leaving their computer unlocked when they go home at the end of the day.
Your business is also vulnerable to threats that can come from external forces, i.e., computer viruses and malware, natural disasters or power failures.
You have no choice but to assume that a disaster will take place. The question at this point is not if…but when.
Here’s an interesting article on Data Loss Statistics that all business owners need to know.
Data loss prevention should not be an after-thought:
• Prepare now!
• Do you have a plan?
• Have you tested that plan?
Without proper safe-guards in place, your company could be exposed to critical data loss and disruption of business.
Ask yourself these questions:
• Do I know where my company’s confidential data being stored, who is accessing it, and where it’s being sent?
• Does my company have a plan for safeguarding and protecting critical data from intruders and accidental loss?
• Am I well versed in the liability, negative exposure, fines and lost revenue associated with data breaches?
• Does my company have Cyber Liability Insurance?
If you answered NO to any of these questions, contact us at 732-291-5938 or email@example.com.
Support for Windows 7
Support for Windows 7 is coming to an end. After January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for PCs running Windows 7. They will, however, offer “extended support” for a price and no new features will be released.
For Healthcare Providers, any computer running Windows 7 after it has reached End of Life is no longer protected, and therefore no longer HIPAA compliant.
Upgrading will take time and planning; the time to begin planning is now. Let us guide you through this process.
